BACKGROUNDS
Making your own backgrounds.
Adirodack Dabbers with a Credit Card.
For this technique you will need----
Adirondack Dabbers in 3 or 4 colours plus black or white
A Krylon pen
Black card
An old credit card.

Nail Varnish
This technique can be a bit hit and miss but when it works gives lovely results.
You need clear nail polish, black card stock, warm water.
Fill a bowl or dish that your card will fit into with warm water, place card in water then drop nail varnish drops on to the top of the water and it will break into an “oil slick” then bring up your card from the water catching the “oil slick” on the way out. Let it dry.
Brayer
You will need a Brayer, glossy card stock, dye based ink pad, water in a spray bottle, cling film, salt
Ink up brayer with the dye ink pad, then apply to card by rolling up and down keeping pressure on the brayer to smooth out the ink. Spray with water and put scrunched up cling film over the whole card and leave to dry. Try putting salt on to the water sprayed card and leave to dry.
Marvy Metallics

You need Marvy Metallics in at least 2 colours, black glossy card stock, water in a spray bottle.
Scribble Marvy Metallics in 2 or 3 colours over black card, spray with water then cover with scrunched up cling film and leave to dry.
Soot

You need white glossy card stock, a candle, an un inked stamp.
Light candle and make soot on your glossy card by putting it over the candle flame, be careful not to catch alight, you need to make the card totally black, then stamp on to it with a non inked stamp and it will remove the soot and leave the stamped image. The card then needs to be sealed with an acrylic sealer or it will just wipe off. You can also colour
your glossy card with Posh Inkabilities first, then proceed as before and you will have a coloured image when the soot is removed.
Shelf Liner

You will need rubberised shelf liner, ultra thick embossing powders and any glitter, accent beads, Bedazzles that you want to add.
Mix various colours of ultra thick embossing powders in a dish, heat shelf liner with a heat gun then pour on the EP mix, tip off excess back into pot. Then heat shelf liner with EP on it, add another layer of EP, this time when you heat it add any small beads, glitter etc.
Polished Stone

You will need Alcohol Inks, Blender Fluid and Metallic Alcohol inks or a Krylon pen.
Place 3 drops of each of 2 or 3 colours on to the felt pad on the wood block or Ranger handle, then tap it all over the glossy card when it is covered add a couple of drops of Blender fluid to the pad and a single drop of Metallic ink or a touch with the Krylon pen then tap it all over the top of the previous ink layer.
